Headed down in the early hours of Sunday morning to Walton Heath to meet with Monty after a disappointing PGA Championship for him.
Monty faced the US Open Qualifiers, and his putting confidence had dropped.
My first job was to assess Monty’s Sighting & Alignment to find what had become most corrupted, leading him to be offline, alongside a choice of Putters.
After 30 minutes of tournament focused putting we identified 3 key areas that he could take onto the course and deliver.
Monty did just that shooting the 3rd lowest score of the day and missing a playoff spot by only 1 stroke. Whilst conditions on the Greens in the afternoon cost him dearly with 3 Putts bobbling off line, he putted very well throughout the day which was a massive improvement following a really disappointing PGA.
So it’s on to the Twenty10 this week to carry on the work of restoring Monty’s accuracy, confidence and prowess on the Greens.
And, with the work we are doing I firmly believe Monty will be back in the Winners enclosure soon!
